Alternative product fits

01

General AI assistant

ChatGPT

The workflow combines research with general drafting, analysis, or other assistant tasks.

Verify: Current web tools, source behavior, model identity, and claim support.
02

General AI assistant

Claude

Long-form analysis or document-centered research is a key test case.

Verify: Citations, connected sources, account controls, and performance on the same questions.
03

General AI assistant

Gemini

The research process depends on Google-facing product or developer services.

Verify: The precise surface and whether results are attributable and reproducible.
04

Workspace AI

Notion AI

The relevant sources are owned workspace documents rather than the open web.

Verify: Permissions, source freshness, retrieval accuracy, and missing-answer behavior.

Switching checklist

  1. Define whether the source corpus is the public web, owned documents, or both.
  2. Score source authority, coverage, entailment, and access failures independently.
  3. Keep volatile research dated and schedule a recheck.
  4. Review data controls before connecting internal material.
  5. Retain a reviewer who can reject unsupported synthesis.

Latest releases

IndexNow proof-origin protocol fix

Production Bing validation exposed HTTP 500 at the external root proof because TLS termination was followed by an internal rewrite using the wrong protocol. This release corrects that rewrite boundary, but remains unverified until the external proof returns HTTP 200, the automatic submission runs, a later canary returns HTTP 200, and the idempotent rerun passes.

IndexNow root-proof request compatibility

After v4.3.3, the exact root-level {key}.txt proof returned HTTP 200, but a full request carrying keyLocation still returned HTTP 403; a minimal homepage request with the same production key and no keyLocation returned HTTP 202. This release omits that field, while the automatic full run and idempotent rerun remain deployment checks.

IndexNow key-proof compatibility

Changed IndexNow verification to the official root-level {key}.txt convention after the first production notification returned HTTP 403; revalidation remains pending, while the website, sitemaps, and Bing sitemap processing are unaffected.
